From Moonlit Births to Sun-Kissed Beginnings

Updated: Jul 29

Holding a newborn baby is an experience I don’t think I’ll ever tire of.  Their tiny fingers and the mysteries of their lives yet to unfold are truly awe inspiring for me.  Over the years I've had the privilege to be part of many awe-inspiring moments, witnessing the beginning of countless life journeys.  Supporting families through such a transformative experience has filled my life with unforgettable moments - each as unique and memorable as the last.

Today, I'm excited to share a new beginning of my own: the launch of my refreshed brand, complete with a new logo and website. This marks the start of an expanded range of services aimed at providing comprehensive support and guidance for mums, dads, babies, and families as they embark on their unique journeys.

Finding a logo: the Meaning Behind the Symbol

I've always held a deep fascination for symbols, and this guided my journey to find the ideal logo.  There’s stories and meanings embedded in everything from place names, baby names, ancient manuscripts to symbols etched onto ancient stones.  Similarly, the wisdom and symbolism found in nature played a part in guiding my decision too. The process felt like unlocking a secret language, trying to reveal layers of meaning that resonated with the essence of my work.  For this reason - I probably wasn’t the easiest customer my web designer, Ashton, ever had!

Initially, I imagined a logo featuring a moon and star, symbols of divine feminine power and guidance. But after several iterations, the designs didn’t quite align.  Then Ashton came up with a wild card - my name set against the backdrop of a sun in calming blue tones.  This was it!  It was perfect.

The sun, our life-giver here on Earth, the embodiment of Fire, resonated deeply with me and the work that I do. It spoke of strength, positivity, and creative energy – the essence of everything I aim to instil in my role as midwife, teacher and holistic practitioner. And the blue – for me, it reflected the Sky, and symbolised the element of Air.  It spoke of calmness, peace and transformation.

Incorporating the Moon and Stars

The absence of the moon and stars initially felt disappointing, until I realised, they were still there!  The sun, after all, is the most prominent star in our sky, and also represents new beginnings and limitless possibilities. And the moon?  Well it’s the New Moon, integrated into the sun symbol, representing the unseen yet ever-present force that encourages us to set intentions for our future dreams.

This balance in the logo, symbolises all the elements and for me represents the profound connection between birth, life, and human connectivity, which I feel, captures the essence of my work beautifully.

With Love and Gratitude

A heartfelt thank you to Ashton, whose patience and guidance have been invaluable. This journey has not always been smooth, but her support has been a reminder that there is joy in collaboration and beauty in maintaining an open mind; and that sometimes we need others to help us see what’s been in front of us all along.

And to all my clients, past and present.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Your stories of positivity and transformation are and always will be an endless inspiration for me – you fuel my passion to keep learning, to keep growing, and keep serving. None of this would be possible without you!
