Physiological birth story – Chloe & Harith’s first baby

We just wanted to share our special news with you. Our baby was born at Inverurie Maternity Unit and our birthing experience was put simply absolutely wonderful. Contractions first started late on a Friday and were on/off until the Sunday evening when things started to ramp up! We arrived in Inverurie and at that point our baby was back to back. I got into the birthing pool and managed the whole labour with just gas and air and hypnobirthing - it was intense but the breathing/visualisation techniques you taught us are literally what got me through it. And I was visualising my baby turning all through my labour and that's exactly what she did all herself!

I caught her when she was born and she was so calm, just gazing up at us. I delivered the placenta physiologically with no problem. We had lots of quiet time, skin to skin and she breastfed straight away. We were then home within 6 hours for a welcome night’s sleep! Also... I didn't tear, just a very small labia graze so absolutely delighted with that - all that perineal massage you taught us about paid off!!

We are very much in love, she is absolutely beautiful. We literally can not thank you enough for all your help. We are so glad we chose to pursue hypnobirthing with you and we feel that it made our experience a very positive one.
